Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Guard Shack Attendant to oversee the entrance and exit of vehicles, visitors, and employees at our lumber yard. This role is responsible for ensuring security, verifying documentation, and maintaining accurate records while providing excellent customer service.

Pay for this Role: $15.00 depending on experience. 

Responsibilities:
  • Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy.
  • Unload/Load customer orders accurately in accordance with paperwork/invoices.
  • Organize, label, store materials in accordance with protocols.
  • Safely operate equipment.
  • Follow yard loading and delivery procedures.
  • Accurately record all merchandise returns on a credit memo, put materials in designated return area and ensure return to vendor.
  • Listen and work with customers to fulfill their daily needs. 
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Monitor and control access to the lumber yard, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter.
  • Check-in and check-out trucks, logging deliveries and shipments accurately.
  • Verify identification, paperwork, and load documentation for drivers and visitors.
Requirements:
  • Desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Ability to react quickly to problems and respond to them accurately and professionally.
  • Ability to stand/walk for 4 -10 hours daily.
  • Ability to operate office equipment.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Physical strength to lift and carry 50+ pounds at times.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • Positive and energetic attitude.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Self motivated
  • Possess a high level of initiative and dedication to work.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
