Position Summary: The GL Senior Accountant supports various aspects of the full accounting cycle. They assist with month-end closing and monthly analytics of actual results. Our team values recommendations on process improvements and standardization to gain greater efficiency and effectiveness within the finance organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the general ledger close process including the preparation of journal entries and Balance Sheet account reconciliations ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Own the accruals and prepaid process for accurate reporting including investigating new and current contracts and managing stakeholder relationships during non-close.
  • Analyze general ledger account detail for accuracy and completeness to ensure transactions are recorded, documented, reviewed, and supported in accordance with company policies and controls.
  • Assist with identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities, including leveraging digital tools to automate and improve efficiency in company processes.
  • Lead internal control compliance documentation and walk-throughs.
  • Perform Ad Hoc requests and supervise accounting staff as needed.

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least four (4) to six (6) years of progressive industry and public accounting experience.
  • Required experience in NetSuite with preferred experience in Bill.com and Concur.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS, including preparation of financial statements.
  • Specific technical areas include intercompany, expense classification, allocations, legal entity reporting, and complex organizational structures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Intermediate MS Excel skills (Index, VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Extremely detail oriented and proactive.
  • Autonomous in nature and goes above and beyond for recurring and ad hoc tasks.
  • Strong understanding and experience with month-end closing activities and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience with high volume transaction processing with ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, motivated, and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to embrace change and explore new ways of working as the company continuously improves its processes.
  • Ability to solve problems using critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent work habits, including strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work independently.

Required Education Certifications: B.A./B.S. in Accounting M.S. in Accounting a plus CPA preferred

Compensation: Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $86,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
