Responsibility Statement:
As a Furniture Team Lead you are expected to embrace the vision of NHM as outlined by the BOD and Executive Director. Using leadership in your role, you would then ensure the implementation of that vision within your realm of influence in the organization.
The Furniture Team Lead is responsible for treating guests with care and patience as they lead the warehouse and furniture team, receive donations, and make sure the warehouse and sales floor are neat and organized.
Additional tasks may be assigned at times by your supervisor. Consideration will be given to your current workload and duties.
Key Result Areas:
LMA: Provide leadership, management, and accountability for the following direct reports,
- Furniture Associates
Guest Interaction: Treat guests with care and patience.
- Sales and Customer Service for the furniture department
- Load and unload furniture and donations
- Ensure guests are heard and cared for in a professional manner
Furniture Sales: Clean, price and sell donated furniture.
- Research pricing on donated items/products
- Clean and price product for the furniture sales floor
- Make minor repairs to furniture as needed to maximize sales
- Organize and lead the furniture department to maximize sales

Desktop Computer Skills
- Spreadsheets- Using a computer application to enter, manipulate, and format text and numerical data; insert, delete, and manipulate cells, rows, and columns; and create and save worksheets, charts, and graphs.
- Internet- Navigating the Internet to find information, including the ability to open and configure standard browsers; use searches, hypertext references, and transfer protocols; and send and retrieve electronic mail (e-mail).
- Navigation- Using scroll bars, a mouse, and dialog boxes to work within the computer's operating system. Being able to access and switch between applications and files of interest.
- Word Processing- Using a computer application to type text, insert pictures, format, edit, print, save, and retrieve word processing documents.
Leadership Skills
- Lead Tasks- The ability to lead out with projects/tasks and consistently finish what they start.
- Lead People- Taking leadership seriously and leading by example. Effectively able to coordinate people for assignments.
Experience/Training Required:
New Horizons Ministries will provide training as required if not experienced or trained in that field.
Compensation:
Full-time
This is a full-time position. This position is not exempt, which means that overtime pay will be paid for time worked over 40 hours per week.
Paid Medical Leave, MEC, and Life Insurance is included, optional health benefits include Vision, and HDHP. Paid vacation begins to accrue after 30 days.
Compensation will be paid twice a month, on the 7th and 21st of each month.
No compensation will be provided for voluntary time and/or services provided and volunteered by the employee that fall outside the typical employee responsibilities for this job.
