Location: Leadville, CO.

About the role

Thiess is seeking a Fuel and Lube Technician to support our mining team on our Project site near Denver, Colorado. The Fuel and Lube Technician will be responsible for safely fueling and greasing Mining shovels, loaders, dozers, graders, haul truck and water truck.

What you’d be doing

  • Grease and refuel heavy earthmoving equipment, following lubrication and fuel schedules
  • Clean and replace parts as necessary
  • While meeting safety standards, work with your team to maximize productivity and minimize downtime
  • Assist heavy equipment mechanics/welders with other related duties

Additional information

  • All necessary tools will be provided
  • Work schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, rotating 12-hour shifts both days and nights
  • Fly-in, fly-out opportunities for those who live out-of-state (travel expenses paid), drive-in, drive-out opportunities for those who live in-state (mileage reimbursed)
  • Working at high elevation with cold, snowy conditions during winter months
  • Hotel and shuttle accommodations provided

What we’re looking for

It’s required to have

  • Ability to work extended shifts, rotating days and nights at high elevation
  • Interpersonal skills to bring to a positive, inclusive team-oriented work environment
  • Alignment with our “Everyone Safe Everyday” culture, having a paramount outlook on safety
  • Experience in diesel/heavy equipment mechanics as well as fuel and lube

It’s beneficial to have

  • Technical training/certifications
  • Experience working on a mine
  • MSHA Part 48 certification (Thiess will provide training if needed)
