Job Description

Job Type: Full time, Hourly

Wage: $16/hr.

Location: Canon City, CO.

Job Description:

Hours and Pay: 40 hours a week, 8am – 4pm, Monday – Friday, hourly wage $16.00

Job Summary: The Receptionist is responsible for many administrative tasks that keep our office running smoothly. This position provides customer service and creates a welcoming environment. This person is responsible for coordinating and supervising the office procedures and staffing needed to make this ministry operate efficiently and effectively.

● Assist in communicating our mission and core values in word and deed inside and outside of the program.

● Help plan program events such as fundraisers, graduations, and other special events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations and other documents
  • Answers, screens, and directs phone calls to staff;
  • Takes messages
  • Receives mail, documents, packages, and courier deliveries and delivers or distributes items.
  • Performs administrative and clerical support tasks.
  • Performs basic filing and recordkeeping.
  • Receive and interact with incoming visitors
  • Assist with completing various applications
  • Supervise and train volunteers on receptionist duties

Required Skills, Abilities, Knowledge and Experience:

  • High School graduate with some college preferred (experience can substitute for education)
  • Knowledge of standard office administrative practices and procedures.
  • Communication Skills – (verbal and written)
  • Personal relations skills
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Work with little or no supervision – (takes initiative)
  • Computer proficiency in;
  • Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Publisher)
  • Demonstrate high ethical behavior – (confidentiality)
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in harmony with clientele, co-workers and supervisor
  • Flexibility
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance with Colorado minimums.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including (but not limited to) computer terminal, telephone, fax machine and photocopier.
  • Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet and limbs performing semi-skilled movements such as data entry.
  • Ability to exert sustained moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
  • Ability to sustain prolonged visual concentration.
  • Ability to recognize and identify similarities or differences between characteristics of colors and sounds associated with job-related objects, materials and task.
