The Facilities Supervisor is the right hand of the Facilities Director and aids in the care and maintenance of all Cooper buildings and facilities. The Facilities Supervisor aids in preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensuring that facilities are safe and functioning properly at all times, and provides direction and guidance to the Facilities Technicians. The Facilities Supervisor covers the Director’s duties in his/her absence.
Duties and responsibilities
- Aid Manager in the planning and coordination of facility installations and refurbishments
- Aid in the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
- Inspect building structures with Manager to determine the need for repairs or renovations
- Maintain all building fixtures and appliances to ensure proper and safe function
- Diagnose/Fix issues with electrical, plumbing, HVAC, structural systems, etc.
- In the absence of the Manager, act as crew supervisor
- Operate & drive trash truck and one-ton flatbed
- Perform snow/ice removal in and around base area facilities
- Janitorial duties, particularly after operation hours – vacuuming, cleaning, wiping down, etc.
- Assist other departments when necessary and asked to do so
- Any other tasks assigned
Qualifications
- Must be 18+ with a current and valid Driver’s License
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Proven experience in a maintenance/facilities position(s)
- Knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
- Knowledge of gas and electric snow blowers and other power equipment is a plus
- Some familiarity with local and national building, electrical, and fire codes
- Some familiarity with OSHA standards
- Must be able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level in order to service on-mountain facilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- A professional, positive, and enthusiastic attitude
Working conditions
The Facilities Supervisor position is based both inside and outside, and is exposed to temperature extremes (above 85 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (10,500+ feet).
Physical requirements
Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift objects which may be heavy, etc.

This is a winter seasonal position with an expected season of early December 2024 through early-mid April 2025. Employment in subsequent seasons is not guaranteed. Be sure to speak with your supervisor if you desire to return the next season.
