Description | SUMMARY: The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing the maintenance and repair of Town-owned buildings, facilities, and future Town owned development projects. This position supervises the facilities maintenance division staff and contracted services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications): High School diploma or equivalent qualification is required, Technical College degree or trade school preferred; valid Driver’s License; five (5) years of experience in maintenance or in construction trade and three (3) of experience in supervising others required; First Aid and CPR certification required or ability to obtain within (6) six months. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: Knowledge of: thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, construction methods, and occupational hazards of the various building trades; Town building codes and standards; contract and invoicing procedures; methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in maintenance; reading building plans and blueprints; budget planning. Skill in: building and equipment troubleshooting and repair work; time management skills; organization; asset management; attention to detail; overseeing the work of contract services; leadership; effective written and oral communication; teamwork; safe motor vehicle operation; coordinating scheduled repairs and maintenance. Environmental Factors: Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in and around Town’s buildings and facilities with exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, grease, chemicals, and odors. Hazards present in this position are inherent in occupational areas including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Moderate noise levels. Physical Factors: While performing the duties of this job, is required to sit, stand or walk; frequently lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls up to 100lbs and uses a dolly or other equipment to carry in excess of 100lbs; may be required to lift heavy and awkward objects, up to 50 lbs, from ground level to waist level or higher either on solid ground or while balancing (example: ladder); frequently climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, reaches, and handles while performing duties in camped and unconventional work areas.
