Wage: $65,000-$80,000/yr. 

Location: Buena Vista, CO.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Executive Banquet / Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and hospitality settings. You will play a crucial role in preparing and presenting high-quality dishes for various events, ensuring that every guest has an exceptional dining experience as well as working as the lead Sous Chef in our restaurant (Wesley & Rose) where events aren't happening.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of menu items for banquets and special events, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen management team to plan menus that meet the needs of diverse clientele while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health regulations, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
  • Assist in managing kitchen operations during events, including coordinating with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service.
  • ​Expo​ or work the line​ for our in-house restaurant, when ​events are not going on.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed to maintain adequate stock for upcoming events.
  • Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, safety protocols, and kitchen equipment usage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned after use.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant and banquet setting, with a strong understanding of culinary techniques and food management practices.
  • Familiarity with menu planning and the ability to create innovative dishes that cater to various dietary preferences.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices within the culinary industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and other departments within the hospitality environment.
