Job Type: Part time, Hourly

Wage: $17.50/hr.

Location: Trinidad, CO.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for providing customer service to the public and renters of the Space2Create facility.  Daily tasks require providing general information to the public and third-party groups while overseeing events in this facility. This position requires frequent evening and weekend shifts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working out of the Space to Create Commons on Main Street, this individual will provide customer service for any visitors to the building, answer phone calls, assist with the scheduling of events, and provide all forms necessary for reserving space in the building.
  • May assist in developing event marketing materials for the facility.
  • Prioritizes exemplary, positive communication skills via email, over the phone and in person regarding hours of operation, facility uses, and availability.
  • Maintains detailed documentation for each event.
  • Assists with the setting up and tearing down of events.
  • Invoices and collects space usage fees and maintains records of financial transactions.
  • Works in conjunction with The Hive staff to coordinate food and alcohol sales requested by the renters of The Commons.
  • Assists in maintaining a calendar of events and meetings.
  • Coordinate meeting space for new and ongoing organizational meetings.
  • Coordinate the cleaning schedule with maintenance personnel.
  • This position will work independently on evenings and weekends as scheduled events demand.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Attention to detail.
  • Skilled in the principles of negotiation and problem-solving as well as working independently.
  • Skilled in listening to, reading, understanding, and communicating the English language so that others are able to understand. This must be done both orally and in writing, at the level appropriate for the position held.
  • Trained using computer software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, a hard worker with a high energy level; willingness to work hands-on in assisting customers and staff.
  • Possess high standards of integrity, credibility, and reliability.
  • Works well independently and in a group setting; a true team player.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including daytime, evenings, and weekends.
  • Safe work record and demonstration of a strong work ethic.
  • Strong organizational skills and a willingness to be proactive and accept new challenges.
  • Ability to initiate and build relationships with customers and interact via telephone and in person with customers.

SUPERVISION

Received:  Works under the general supervision of the Creative Main Street Facilitator or his/her designee.

Exercised:  None.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience with Customer service.

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid current state-issued driver’s license and not be under suspension, revocation or denial nor have any prior alcohol and/or drug related driving offenses within the last five years. A driving record search will be conducted on all applicants prior to employment and will be subject to observation throughout their employment.
  • Successful candidates must pass a background investigation, drug screening and physical examination in accordance with job duties prior to employment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Duties are generally performed in an office setting with a controlled environment.
