Duties
- Operate a variety of equipment including dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, tractors, forklifts, grounds keeping equipment, snow removal equipment, power and hand tools, and other specialized maintenance and construction equipment related to area of assignment.
- Perform safety and maintenance inspections on assigned vehicle or equipment.
- Set up safe and effective traffic control, including street barricades and cones, prior to the performance of maintenance and construction activities to ensure public and worker safety through work zones.
- Direct and control traffic around work sites.
- Participate in the installation, maintenance, and reconstruction of streets and related systems.
- Install and replace guardrails, barriers and other street system safety devices.
- Clean debris from irrigation systems, street and storm drain systems, parking lots, walkways, ditches, and alleys.
- Clean and maintain assigned areas.
- Construct and install improvements to walkways, bike paths, irrigation and storm drain systems including building and forming irrigation and storm drain structures.
Qualifications
- One year (1) of general labor experience.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Commercial Driver License within 6 months of hire.
