Job Description

Job Type: Full time, Hourly

Wage: $20-$24/hr.

Location: Canon City, CO.

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain specifications, procedures, and objectives.

2. Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer aided equipment.

3. Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems to resolve design issues or problems.

4. As required, conduct DXF preparation or modification.

5. Inspect lines or figures for clarity and correct erroneous drawings.

6. Design scale or full-size blueprints of equipment and components.

7. Layout and draw schematic, orthographic or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.

8. Check dimensions of materials, components or assemblies for conformance.

9. Evaluate designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing with original specifications for conformance.

10. Review and determine basic specifications from existing product calculators and worksheets.

11. Collaborate with Customer Service, Engineering, and Manufacturing on coordinating design and scheduling needs of the product to meet the customer’s needs.

12. Process shop floor changes as required using the appropriate procedures to provide proper documentation to production.

13. Perform all clerical and application tasks associated with the Engineering department using the existing software and electronic processes including, but not limited to SAP, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

14. Prepare drawings, BOMs, and necessary documentation to ensure smooth and accurate flow of product production. This requires working knowledge of SAP, Autodesk and Windows Office.

15. Confirm and process replacement part orders to the extent of providing production with proper documentation.

16. Performs other duties as required by the supervisor.

17. Comply with all company policies and procedures as required.

Required experience:

Prefer 1 year of sales, customer service and/or data entry experience.

Prefer 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Prefer an Associate’s Degree or vocational certification training in computer design/drafting fields.

3. Prefer at least two years’ experience in a manufacturing/engineering department

4. Possess a knowledge of product processing and drafting.

5. Possess a knowledge of AutoDesk, Microsoft Office and ERP systems.

6. Willing to work the 2nd shift and occasional weekends.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is required to walk and reach with hands and arms and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. The noise level in the work environment is regular factory noises. Wearing the proper PPE (protective eyewear, ear plugs and steel toed shoes) is a requirement in most areas of this facility.
