Wage: $38,000-$63,440/yr. 

Location: Westcliffe, CO.

Job Description:

Full time elementary teaching position with excellent benefits. Possible affordable school housing available. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for instructing students in an elementary school from grades K-5. Creates lesson plans, creates a positive classroom leadership learning culture, instructs students in literacy, math, science, and social studies according to the Colorado State Standards and district curriculum. Creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program inclusive of students, parents, and colleagues.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Stay updated and utilize mandates and standards of the Colorado State Standards and district curriculum.
  • Prepare, deliver, and utilize all district approved assessments.
  • Prepare instructional resources for use in the classroom.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
  • Create positive educational climate for students according to our school environment plan.
  • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
  • Maintain lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year according to assessment results.
  • Maintain grade books, attendance, and all student records.
  • Grade papers and provide instructional feedback to students and parents.
  • Read and stay abreast of current topics in education.
  • Participate in all elementary level and school-wide professional development.
  • Utilize various curriculum resources. Integrate goals, objectives, and feedback into lesson plans.
  • Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
  • Develop professional relationships with other community agencies and programs.
  • Utilize school and public library resources.
  • Work with colleagues to ensure school initiatives are being met.
  • Deliver instruction in the whole group, small group, and individual setting.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Prepare and distribute required reports. 
  • Observe and evaluate student's performance.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by using school-wide approved procedures.
  • Implement differentiated instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Work collaboratively with all team members and support staff
