Wage: $45,186-$77,720/yr.

Job Description:

Start Date: Anticipated July 30th for the 2026-2027 School Year
Position Type: Full-time, 169 days per year
Location: Harrison K-8

Salary: Pay for this position is determined by the 169-day Teacher Salary Schedule and based on education and experience. Salary Range $45,186-$77,720.

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

  • Valid Colorado Teacher License, Music Endorsement, or be eligible to apply
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Skilled in both general and instrumental music instructional strategies
  • Familiarity with the State of Colorado Music Standards
  • Familiarity with the curriculum Quavers preferred
  • Strong knowledge of literacy development, instructional programs and practices, and assessment 
  • Ability to employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies
  • Desire to incorporate a hands-on learning approach with traditional curriculum
  • Promote learning skills of critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity
  • Ability to create a positive learning environment for elementary-aged children
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work with classroom teachers to facilitate/coordinate scheduling of classes and conferences with parents
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students, and the public 
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of student developmental stages
  • Ability to communicate with multiple publics
  • Resilience and flexibility in the face of change
  • Ability to read and write in order to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities. 
  • Possess skills to be able to utilize basic technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively.  

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teachers are held to high expectations for their performance to ensure the success of the individual and the District in serving students and the community.  Teachers are held to the District’s Licensed Personnel Performance Evaluation SystemState’s Quality Standards point to fulfillment of the teaching responsibility.  A teacher’s demonstrated effectiveness is based on the following standards: 

Quality Standard I: Teachers demonstrate mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content they teach.

Quality Standard IITeachers establish a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students.

Quality Standard IIITeachers plan and deliver effective instruction and create an environment that facilitates learning for their students

Quality Standard IV: Teachers demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership.
