Job Description

Job Type: Full time, Hourly

Wage: $28-$32/hr. 

Location: Buena Vista, CO.

Job Description:

The Electrical and Plumbing Area Manager is responsible for efficiently building quality modular homes and leading teams of Production Specialists at multiple stations that primarily handle electrical and plumbing installation. Employees in this role are 1 of 7 area managers that are the primary drivers of production in their respective areas. Area Supervisors are a part of our primary production leadership team and are essential to our organizational success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the needs of production, and lead teams of production specialists working on plumbing and electrical installation
  • Ensure that electrical maps and plumbing layouts are executed and installed correctly and with precision according to plans in order to minimize re-work or failed functionality tests.
  • Work with subject matter experts such as journeyman electricians and plumbers to improve process and quality of work.
  • Focus improvement efforts on Safety, Quality and Velocity.
  • Assist with production needs and work with other supporting staff to implement new ideas and processes as it pertains to electrical and plumbing
  • Assist with training and cross training individuals.
  • Reduce waste and address production issues to keep the plumbing and electrical installation line and supporting production areas running smoothly.
  • Allocate resources and talent appropriately to accomplish goals in area of responsibility
  • Ensure timecard and attendance accuracy for direct reports (including editing and approving daily time entries and time off requests) while ensuring correct staffing level to support production.
  • Execute quarterly employee reviews with all Fading West direct reports
  • Ensure policy and procedure compliance among reports and elevate issues to operations manager as needed.
  • Ensure employees are equipped with the tools, resources, and skills they need to safely and efficiently complete assigned tasks.
  • Identify, solicit, and create process improvements to production in assigned areas in collaboration with both production specialists, station leads, supervisors and fellow area managers.
  • Ensure that safety requirements and procedures are followed by all reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have proven leadership and people management skills
  • Home building experience required
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Expertise in electrical and plumbing trades strongly preferred
  • Ability to lead teams through conflict resolution
  • Ability to make decisions and prioritize tasks for the team.
  • Experience utilizing Lean processes preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational, planning, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously

REQUIREMENTS

  • In-Person (this position cannot be performed remotely)
  • This role requires signing a confidentiality agreement, intellectual property rights agreement, and non-compete and non-disclosure agreement
  • Reference check that speaks to the positive character of the applicant
  • May be required to regularly stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time, lift or carry more than 50 pounds, climb/balance on stairs or ladders, stoop, kneel, and crouch
  • Must be competent and comfortable in basic computer skills and navigating modern technology

COMPENSATION

Rate Range: $28.00 to $32 per/hour (Rate commensurate with experience) Fading West rigorously adheres to Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, C.R.S. § 8-5-201(1)
