Job Description
Performs a variety of duties to assist the public through registration of qualified voters, assisting in preparation of the elections process, maintaining voting rolls and records and ensuring work performed is accurate and timely submitted to the State. Assists with all elections, under the jurisdiction of the Clerk and Recorder, by ordering supplies, arranging Vote Centers, assists with the final count of the votes including receiving, processing and filing ballots and election materials upon closing of the polls. Assists with election equipment such as Central Count Scanners, ICX’s, tally databases and maintains election archiving. Maintains, repairs and performs diagnostic tests on voting machines. Registers qualified voters and assigns qualified voters to the proper district. Enters qualified electors into the computer system ensuring all information is accurate. Processes online voter registrations and registrations from voter drives. Assists with the development of the ballot. Ensures ballots are properly addressed to registered voters within the Counties defined precincts and tax districts. Processes ballots when received via mail by scanning the envelope for tracking purposes and scanning the completed ballot into the election equipment. Assists and or maintains public records of voter registration books and rolls. Files materials according to established systems. Processes and files materials necessary to meet registration and election dates in accordance with Federal, State and local laws. Submits information (with supervision) to the Secretary of State’s office. Assists with the Petition process ensuring Federal, State and locals laws are followed and met. Processes a completed petition such as verification of signatures.
Qualifications:
Level II: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid and current Colorado Driver’s License.
- Becoming election certified through Secretary of State’s office.
- Must be able to pass CBI background check.
- Must be a registered voter in the State of Colorado.
