Location: Penrose, CO.

Job Description:

The Education Account Coordinator for schools, school districts and education distributors is responsible for meeting and exceeding annual financial and net sales goals for Estes products to be sold within US school districts as well as private, charter and other privately funded schools and educational programs. The Education account sales representative is responsible for coordinating and orchestrating all sales resources, travel, and sales support throughout the United States. The Education account representative is also expected to work cross functionally with marketing, sales operations, and customer support.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Sales Management

  • Educate teachers and school district personnel on the STEM value of Estes Rocketry products as a part of science curriculum taught in schools.
  • Stay up to date on all education tools and resources provided by the education department and use appropriately as sales aids to support teachers/districts with their rocketry programs.
  • Create lead generation and plan sales calls and client visits and coordinate activities with focus on high profile, top priority, most complex customers, and sales targets within region.
  • Work closely and effectively to identify, develop, and close priority sales targets.
  • Work closely with sales director to develop and adhere to business plans.
  • Consistently communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with the education department in relation to sales strategies and sales targets.
  • Work directly with the Directors of Education and Marketing to sharpen skills at all experience levels.
  • Travel to Educational and other shows which may occur over weekends.

Sales Administration and Planning

  • Ensure that company systems and tools are used for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work closely with management to formulate ongoing sales organization policy.
  • Develop and implement a goal-oriented business plan geared towards maximizing the potential of the Estes product list for all Education channel within the US.
  • Analyze Education sales, target new sales opportunities, and develop and implement strategies to improve sales performance and achieve company goals.
  • Work directly with the education team to determine competitive conditions and strategies for selling products to teachers and ensuring sell through of those products within the region.
  • Develop itineraries that will maximize ability to educate school district personnel to impact sales performance throughout region.
  • Actively participate and contribute as required in the planning and implementation of national/regional Education trade shows, marketing planning meetings, training events, and other sales-related events.
  • Manage timely effective sampling to ensure best sales results while remaining within a specified sampling budget.
  • Manage and track travel entertainment (T&E) activities and remain within budget.

Reporting and Communication

  • Work closely with the Director of Global Sales and Director of Education to ensure that a shared vision, common goals, and macro strategies remain intact and are achieved.
  • Thorough and regular reporting communication, weekly with Director of Global Sales on all sales related status and progress.
  • Provide regular and timely communication to in-house Product Team on regional trends, product performance, and competitive landscape.
  • Provide seasonal sales forecasts of projected revenue.
  • Make recommendations on improvements to product lines, customer relations, marketing research, sales techniques, sales tools, and sales training.
  • Integrate appropriate managerial reports into operational efforts to maximize sales performance at the account levels.
  • Provide thoughtful and timely feedback to in-house marketing and/or possible editorial queries.
  • Represent Estes Industries as required and requested in communicating Estes Industries policies and programs to customers, organizations, and other stakeholders in Education.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 5 years Sales work experience preferably in an Education Sales environment at the District, School, and teachers’ level.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Model Rocketry is a plus.
