Position Summary:

As the Director of Architecture at Pax8, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technology landscape. Reporting directly to the VP of Technical Governance, you will be responsible for overseeing the Enterprise Architecture Team, ensuring the alignment of our technical strategies with business objectives. You will lead a team of seasoned architects as well as a small team of QA engineers, guiding their efforts to design robust and scalable solutions that drive innovation, efficiency, and long-term growth.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership- Collaborate closely with senior leaders to define and execute Pax8's technology vision, strategy and roadmaps
  • Team Management- Lead, mentor and inspire a team of skilled architects, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation and collaboration
  • Solution Design- Provide expert guidance and oversight to architects in designing and reviewing complex, scalable and innovative technology solutions that align with business goals
  • Governance- Establish and enforce architecture governance processes, ensuring compliance with architectural standards, data and security requirements, and regulatory guidelines
  • Technology Evaluation- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to make informed recommendations and decisions regarding technology adoption
  • Collaboration- Support alignment between platform and system owners through domain driven design principles Drive your own personal development and performance improvements by participating in learning paths on Elev8, taking part in Pax8 L&D programs, receiving peer or manager coaching, taking on stretch projects or on the job training

Ideal Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in enterprise architecture, solution design, and technical leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of architecture principles, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Excellent understanding of cloud technologies, microservices, APIs, and modern architecture patterns.
  • Expertise in industry standard security and compliance requirements (SOC II, ISO, etc.)
  • Experience with project management tooling (e.g. Confluence, Jira) and methodologies (agile, kanban)
  • Experience using engineering tools; python, powershell, sql, jupyter, awscli, github, RESTful APIs, MS graphAPI
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at various levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align technology strategies with business goals.
  • Previous experience in the technology industry or SaaS/cloud solutions is highly desirable.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.S./B.A. degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Relevant certifications, such as
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
    • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals
    • Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
    • AWS Certified Security - Specialty

Compensation: Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $170,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
