Position Summary:

The Director of Compensation has a unique opportunity to leverage their creativity and their deep compensation expertise, overseeing the development, implementation, and administration of global compensation programs. Pax8’s tremendous growth and international expansion over the past few years requires a true global Total Rewards program to ensure Pax8 remains competitive in attracting and retaining the best talent in our industry. The Director of Compensation focuses on implementing strategies that support business objectives and enable our rapid scaling and growth across the globe. The Director is a subject matter expert on everything compensation related (e.g., job architecture, salary structures, sales compensation, global mobility, short- and long-term incentives - including equity, stock options plans, and executive compensation). This leader will collaborate closely with regional People Operations (POps) and business leaders to build scalable and equitable compensation programs across the globe. They lead our small but mighty compensation administration team; developing, guiding, and removing obstacles so that the team can be the best version of themselves while providing excellent support to stakeholders, managers, and individual employees.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Administers compensation plans to support our Global Total Rewards strategy; collaboratively designs global plans and makes recommendations on how to enhance existing plans; collaborates with People Operations leadership to evolve compensation strategies to align with company growth and financial goals
  • Oversees the Global Assignee Program – collaborating with Employee Experience and regional People Ops team to design packages that are equitably allocated, working with receiving region to understand full cost of the Assignee, partnering with tax providers to provide info necessary to facilitate Modified Payrolls and Tax Equalization, and collaborating with regional POps to ensure smooth transition into and away from global assignment
  • Strategically is involved in M&A activity – ensures assessment of acquisition’s current level of compensation, benefits, and perquisites; understand their job descriptions and develops appropriate benchmarks, and assists Revenue Ops in integrating their Sales roles to our ecosystem and comp plans, etc.
  • Partners with regional POps leadership to understand compensation/benefit gaps and assists in developing strategies to provide resources, design cutting-edge programs, thought leadership, etc.; implements regional compensation strategies and practices; ensures alignment and consistency between regions while allowing regional flexibility to provide competitive and relevant programs
  • Builds, develops, mentors, manages, and enables the Total Rewards team to reach their goals at the highest level; ensures Total Rewards team provides the highest level of consultative services to department heads to educate them on compensation standards and best practices
  • Work cross-functionally with sales leadership, finance and sales operations teams to ensure that sales compensation plans are understood and competitive to market In collaboration with Finance and Legal teams, oversees the administration of stock option grants

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least ten (10) years’ progressive experience in Compensation field, including Sales and Executive Compensation
  • At least five (5) years’ experience successfully developing and leading a team
  • Direct experience managing global compensation programs – including global mobility and M&A integrations
  • Proven financial, analytical, technical skills related to Total Rewards initiatives
  • Ability to effectively solve problems, think creatively, make decisions and act, and exercise independent judgment
  • Demonstrated relationship management and project management skills
  • Demonstrated success working independently, cross-functionally and in a consultative manner
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Ability to be exceptionally detail-oriented and organized, and ensuring high-quality, accurate, and consistent work products are produced

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred

Compensation:

Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $150,000 or more depending on experience 

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
