Starpoint is looking for Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to join our team!

SHIFT BONUS! 36-hour shift $648 40-hour shift $720

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Direct Support Professional is to ensure the health and safety of those supported. DSPs are responsible for providing support as identified in the Individual Support Plan, and for collecting data and documenting the provision of those supports. Direct Support Professionals support individuals receiving services in their homes, place of work, community support, or day habilitation site following the Individual Service Plans (ISP), subsequent protocols, and other plans. Provide training and support in areas such as self-help skills, safety skills, hygiene skills, medication skills, food/meal skills, money skills, housekeeping skills, community skills, social skills, vocational skills, safety skills, communication skills, and healthy living skills.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a willingness to provide transportation to clients in your own vehicle.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to carry 50+ pounds. To push/pull 100+ pounds. Lift heavy objects. Stand 4+ hours per day
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

REQUIRED PERSONAL SKILLS:

  • The ability to work as a team member.
  • Good communication skills.
  • The ability to make safe, responsible decisions.
  • Be dependable, prompt, and reliable.
  • Good time management skills.
  • The ability to implement programs, maintaining conscientiousness with completing documentation and data collection.
  • Be able to read and write with good comprehension as well as possess adequate math skills.
