Job Type: Full time, Part time, Hourly

Wage: $25-$28/hr. 

Location: Canon City, CO.

Job Description:

Starpoint is a nonprofit agency that provides essential services to two vulnerable populations: children – and their families – and adults with cognitive and physical challenges. We have been providing services and supports to individuals, families, and communities in Fremont, Chaffee, and Custer counties since 1977.

We are hiring a full or part-time Developmental Interventionist who will be responsible for providing Developmental Intervention Early Intervention (EI) in-home direct services for children from birth to age three meeting the requirements of the Colorado Early Intervention program. The job requires but is not limited to, contacting parents during the whole referral process, contacting Evaluations to determine eligibility for EI, coordinating with any services a child might need, working closely and keeping in continual communication with School Districts, and monitoring that the child is receiving an individualized curriculum with the IFSP goals embedded in the education of each child needing services.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Early Childhood Special Education, or Special Education; and a Colorado License from the Colorado Department of Education in Early Childhood Special Education.

· Must have a valid Colorado driver’s license and maintain a certificate of personal auto insurance on file.

· Must pass a background check.

PERSONAL SKILLS:

· Must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and be responsible for scheduling therapy visits with families.

· Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with families and staff.

· Must be able to relate well with others e.g., staff, parents, and community agencies.

· Must demonstrate a working knowledge of typical and atypical child development.

· Must be able to identify family strengths and value family differences.

· Must be able to present information positively and not interject personal biases.

· Must be able to work independently, and as a team member when needed;

· Must be sensitive to the needs of children and their families.

· Must have the ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with others including supervisors, staff, parents, and individuals from the community.

· Must maintain confidentiality, HIPPA, and FERPA.
