<Responsibilities>
- Greet patients warmly and provide exceptional front desk customer service with professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone system management
- Schedule appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring optimal patient flow
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth, and communicate coverage details clearly to patients
- Manage patient intake processes, including collecting medical history, updating records, and reviewing documentation for accuracy
- Handle billing procedures including medical collection processes, coding (CPT, ICD-9/10), and medical billing to ensure timely payments
- Maintain accurate dental and medical records in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as eClinicalWorks or Meditech while ensuring HIPAA compliance
- Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (10 key typing), appointment reminders, and documentation review to streamline clinic operations
<Requirements>
- Proven experience in a dental office or medical administrative support role with strong front desk skills and office management expertise
- Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and insurance verification procedures
- Proficiency in EHR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms; experience with Epic, Meditech or Athenahealth is highly desirable
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing accuracy
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Previous clinic or hospital experience is preferred; dental clinic experience is highly valued
