Job Type: Full time, Hourly

Wage: $19-$22/hr. 

Location: Salida, CO.

Job Description:

The Cultivator/IPM position plays an essential role in the success of the 12 Peaks Farms Cultivation Team and the Long Play portfolio of brands. This role is responsible for daily cultivation and IPM (Integrated Pest Management) tasks in a large greenhouse environment.

Cultivation duties include filling pots with soil, moving plants and containers, lifting heavy materials, submitting daily reports to management, cleaning greenhouse facilities, operating heavy machinery, cloning, pruning, and watering plants, utilizing Argus irrigation systems, and achieving daily operations via the direction of a supervisor or team lead.

IPM responsibilities focus on controlling, mitigating, and eradicating pests and disease using biological, cultural, mechanical, physical, and chemical controls, while preventing damage to finished product through treatment. Duties include performing chemical and physical pest removal techniques, coordination of daily operations, greenhouse applications, inventory maintenance, finished product evaluation, weekly reports/scouting, and identification of process improvements.

Daily work is performed in a greenhouse under high light, heat and humidity conditions while wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

All 12 Peaks Farms team members must adhere to state cannabis regulations and corporate standards. Successful team members demonstrate a high level of professionalism, work cooperatively and collaboratively with other departments, and assume accountability for compliance, performance, and overall behavior. This position reports to the Cultivation Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Compliance
  • Comply with all HR policies and employee handbook including punctuality, confidentiality, leave procedures and treating others with dignity and respect
  • Responsible for employee safety and Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) compliance
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Daily execution of department plant moves including physical and digital communication
  • Control, mitigate, and eradicate all unwanted pests
  • Understand all IPM training and applications to ensure safety, efficacy, and legal compliance.
  • Helping in other departments as needed.
  • All other duties associated with an agricultural operation as required

Job Duties:

  • Adhere to Cultivation Department’s standard operating procedures and safety protocols
  • Effectively perform independently as well as part of a team
  • Perform cultivation tasks which may include, but not limited to cloning, stock maintenance, transplanting, fertigation, defoliation, topping, flushing, foliar sprays, trimming, waste disposal, cleaning, plant health monitoring, and inventory management as assigned
  • Notify Supervisor regarding items needing replaced, repaired, or ordered
  • Clean protocol utilization including cleaning entire work area at end of each working shift
  • Utilize and maintain all equipment in a manner which results in regular preventative maintenance
  • Perform all IPM related tasks including, but not limited to, treatment applications (spray, drench, fertigation), mixing, cleaning, and PPE maintenance
  • Digitally, verbally, and physically communicate daily applications including products, rates, locations, and times to all campus employees including signage
  • Keep records regarding chemical storage, usage, application, material changes, SDS documentation
  • Provide detailed scouting paperwork as directed by Cultivation Manager
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements with pests, disease, treatments, and application scheduling
  • Perform daily IPM activities in coordination with all campus departments
  • Utilize 12 Peaks Farms environmental and fertigation control system
  • Communicate department successes and concerns to management.
  • Encourages a collaborative process and champion strategies to alleviate concerns

Job Qualifications:

  • Valid Colorado MED Badge
  • Currently holds or has the ability to obtain a CDA applicator license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to follow instructions, take feedback and work with a team.
  • Physical ability to up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills including email, tracking, spreadsheet maintenance and printing functions
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written

**Note: The position works 10hr shifts Sunday-Wednesday.
