Job Description

Job Type: Full time, Salaried

Wage: $70,000-$90,000/yr. 

Location: Buena Vista, CO.

Job Description:

The Superintendent leads and directs a team of Fading West Construction employees and subcontractors to ensure completion of projects on time and on budget. This individual will complete material take-off’s and procurement while providing direct management to completion of modular homes and site built components for Fading West Construction projects. Sites that are managed will be managed in-person at various loactions around in Colorado with the potential for being in surrounding states and will require living near site locations for long periods of time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide leadership to establishing and maintaining a healthy team environment through proactive communication and respect for others on the team
  • Contribute technical expertise to the design and review of site built structures and finishes
  • Provides leadership and oversees total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
  • Provides direct management and oversight, performance evaluation and feedback, training, and career development support of direct reports including Field Engineers, and Field and Assistant Superintendents
  • Provide project reporting and feedback to the Director of Operations
  • Lead the maintenance of clean and safe job-sites through proactive safety measures and consistent job-site upkeep
  • Monitor and approve FWC site teams hours for job costing and payroll
  • Plans, develops, and executes the construction schedule and distribute a daily log for each project
  • Supports warranty efforts as required on completed projects
  • Supervises and coordinates all subcontractors to ensure compliance with their subcontracts
  • Proactively places a high priority on safety at all times and ensures all personnel comply with project procedures, safety programs, work rules, etc.
  • Has direct responsibility for conformance with the contract documents for complete project
  • Ensures that appropriate defect prevention, quality control, and quality assurance plans and procedures are in place for the proper execution of the work
  • Evaluates all changes for their impact on the project schedule and estimated costs
  • Ensures that timely productive preparatory meetings occur and are documented for all trades and subcontractors
  • Provides project approach and logistics input during preconstruction as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Spanish Speaker is a plus
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver license
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction field specific to homebuilding both single family and multi-family Site Superintendent experience required
  • 5 Plus years of management experience required
  • Modular experience preferred
  • LEAN Management experience preferred
  • Procore Microsoft Project experience preferred

REQUIREMENTS

  • In-Person (this position cannot be performed remotely)
  • Travel will be a requirement for 50-75% of the job
  • This role requires signing a confidentiality agreement, intellectual property rights agreement, and non-compete and non-disclosure agreement
  • Background check results that meet Fading West’s standards
  • Reference check that speaks to the positive character of the applicant
  • May be required to regularly stand, sit, or walk for long periods of time, lift or carry more than 50 pounds, climb/balance on stairs or ladders, stoop, kneel, and crouch

Must be competent and comfortable in basic computer skills and navigating modern technology

COMPENSATION

Salary Rate Range: $70,000-$90,000 per/ year (Rate commensurate with experience) Housing will be coordinated by FWC and appropriate mileage and per-diems will apply Fading West rigorously adheres to Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, C.R.S. § 8-5-201(1)
