Job Description:
The Commercial Loan Processor is responsible for processing and assisting the Assistant Vice President Commercial Loans, Vice President Commercial Loans, Loan Officers, and Branch Presidents, in the operations of the Commercial Loan Department.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Process loans in accordance with the Bank’s loan policies and procedures as well as within the appropriate best practices and legal standards.
- Assist the Commercial Loan Officers in the preparation of loan closing documentation.
- Responsible for obtaining all pertinent information and documentation required for a loan to be closed.
- Coordinates closings and prepare loan closing packages.
- Check loan documents for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates, signatures, accuracy of data, etc.
- Perform UCC searches to determine the status of pre-existing liens prior to loan documentation.
- Track any documentation or items needed after loan closing to ensure the accuracy of each loan file.
- Set up loans on core data processor and initiate funding of loans.
- Filing of all loan information and the recording of security agreements, deeds of trust, assignments of rents, etc. with the property county.
- Maintain a current schedule of loans in process.
- Perform final audits on loan files to ensure the files are accurate and complete.
- Scan loan files after loan closings and scan credit files as soon as it is available on Accusystem.
- Maintain files for core documents.
- Perform line of credit draws, principal reductions, loan advances, etc. as a result of customer requests.
- Assist other member of the loan department or loan servicing department with preparing documentation, ordering of appraisals, running payments, quality controlling and final audits of files, etc.
- Support the Bank’s strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service, and superior product knowledge.
- Display and adhere to bank protocol regarding the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering Regulations in relation to specific job duties, including but not limited to the Red Flag Identity Theft Prevention program, OFAC, and reporting Suspicious Activity
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, as well as analysis software.
- Basic understanding of relevant equipment, policies, procedures and strategies used in credit analysis.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and problems.
Compliance Requirements:
- Ensure Compliance with all internal controls and established policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Some loan or Bank experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
