Position Summary:

This Commercial Attorney is a Director that plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business. They draft, review, and negotiate a diverse range of cutting-edge commercial agreements, while providing strategic legal advice to our dynamic internal teams. The Director collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders and assists to develop best practices and policies, support corporate development initiatives, and stay ahead of industry trends. They leverage their expertise in commercial agreements and technology-related transactions to make a significant contribution to a rapidly growing company.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drafts, reviews, negotiates, and interprets a wide variety of commercial agreements, including but not limited to software-as-a-service distribution agreements, sales agreements, procurement, service, outsourcing, and technology agreements
  • Provides strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders on matters related to commercial transactions, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and risk tolerance
  • Develops and implements best practices, policies, and training programs related to commercial transactions and legal matters
  • Advises and supports corporate development initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions
  • Manages relationships with external counsel and oversees their work on complex transactions and legal matters
  • Stays up to date on relevant industry laws, regulations, and trends to ensure compliance and proactive risk

Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:

  • At least eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in commercial agreements, with a focus on technology-related transactions
  • Prior experience working both in a national law firm and in-house at a technology company is required
  • Strong knowledge of intellectual property law, data privacy, and cybersecurity
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, balancing business needs with legal risks
  • Adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Required Education & Certifications:

  • B.A./B.S. in related field or equivalent work experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier law school and a current member in good standing with a State Bar

Compensation:

Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $165,000 or more depending on experience

*Note: Compensation is benchmarked on local Denver Metro area market rates. Qualified candidates in other locations can expect a salary package that may be adjusted based off applicable cost of wages in their respective location.
