Job Description:

The Buena Vista Police Department is hiring a full-time Code Enforcement Officer. This position is an excellent introduction for someone interested in working in law enforcement or an individual who wants to serve their community.

Requirements: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Colorado Driver's license, have a strong work ethic, good communication and report-writing skills, be in good physical condition and not have any disqualifying charges on your criminal history. A pre-employment background check will be part of the hiring process.

Duties: This is a non-sworn position that involves responding to public inquiries, knowledge of the Buena Vista Municipal Code, finding and placing loose dogs, parking enforcement, VIN inspections, working parades and other community events, investigating and enforcing municipal code violations, filing cases and testifying in municipal court, and various other duties.

Pay and Benefits: Beginning wage is $24.20 / hour. Insurance benefits include medical, dental, vision, group life and disability. Retirement plan, accrued vacation leave and sick leave, 13 paid holidays.
