Job Description:
Enforces compliance with Fremont County zoning regulations, resolutions and codes. Issues property addresses. Enforces compliance with laws and regulations governing special mobile machinery (SMM) and County regulations for Medical Marijuana (MMJ). Investigates, by performing on-site inspections, all complaints received regarding Fremont County Zoning regulation violations for the unincorporated areas of Fremont County to determine if a violation exists. Conduct inspections for Home Occupations, Special Review Use Permits (SRU’s), Conditional Use Permits (CUP’s), Temporary Use Permits (TUP), lot line adjustments, vacation of interior lot lines, boundary line adjustments, zoning changes and subdivision applications and permits to ensure compliance with all applicable County, State and Federal regulations. Conducts Systematic and regular inspections to ensure progress is being made on the abatement of identified violations. Continues to monitor and re-inspect the property until abatement of the violation is achieved. Utilize camera and videotape equipment for documentation of investigations resulting in violations and follow up investigations for abatement progress. Create and maintain logs of associated cleanup costs. Notifies property owners of a violation by personal contact and written notification, maintains all documentation, and records in accordance with State Statutes, all applicable County and Legal protocol. Provides property owner with resource information to assist in abating the violation(s). Assist and monitor the Helping Hands Projects. Initiates paperwork and files to substantiate, track and record all complaints, violations, and pertinent information for the office of Planning and Zoning, and action taken by the Code Enforcement Officer. Investigate complaints regarding possible SMM violations for Fremont County to include all incorporated and unincorporated areas.
Perform on-site inspections of SMM equipment to ascertain if a violation exists. This includes personal, commercial and rental of all equipment used and identified as SMM as defined by State Statute. Perform field inspections on equipment identified as SMM Equipment to ensure proper compliance and registration with the Motor Vehicle Department of Fremont County, issue paperwork and citations if necessary. Investigate complaints regarding medical marijuana facilities and home cultivation locations. Conduct follow up inspections on identified violations. Conducts initial and annual inspections on all licensed medical marijuana businesses in unincorporated Fremont County to ensure compliance with County regulations. Performs on-site inspections to assure medical marijuana business are in compliance with licensing, lighting and ventilation requirements. Notifies property owners of a violation by personal contact and written notification, maintains all documentation, and records in accordance with State Statutes, all applicable County and Legal protocol.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university; or one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Requirements:
Valid and current Colorado Driver’s License. Association of Code Enforcement Officials preferred.
