SUMMARY

CNAs perform patient care duties as delegated by a nursing. The job consists of basic nursing skills, personal care skills, basic restorative services, and recognition of mental health and social service needs. CNAs ensure infection control measures are adhered to, safety and emergency procedures follow. CNAs promote and respect patient rights and independence, all while demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills. CNAs work to ensure patient safety at all times. Unit Coordinator prepares, compiles and maintains patients' medical records in assigned nursing unit. Coordinates communication between professional staff and with other hospital departments by performing the following duties.

$500.00 Sign on Bonus HRRMC Medical/Surgical department has CNA/ Unit Coordinator position available working 32 to 36 hours/ week. ESSENTIAL DUTIES PER AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

1. Performs patient care as assigned by the nurse. This may include the data collection of vital signs, daily weights, dietary intake, and output.

2. Accurate and timely document in the EHR data collected and/or care performed.

3. Immediately, as available, respond to patient call lights, address patient needs, and report any changes in patient condition to the primary nurse.

4. Assist patients with rehabilitative activities and activities of daily living such as drinking, eating, dressing, bathing, and personal hygiene.

5. Safely ambulates patients within parameters of weight bearing status or at the level of assistance indicated by RN or Rehab staff.

6. Act as a behavioral health safety sitter when appropriate.

7. Assist nursing staff to keep room tidy and clutter-free.

8. Clean collection of urine and stool samples as delegated by the nurse.

9. Prepare patient rooms for admission and assist in the discharge process.

UNIT COORDINATOR

1. Prepare and maintain medical record to ensure accuracy of records and integrity of charts for the electronic and paper record.

2. Prepare medical record for patient discharges or transfers and including scheduling of follow up appointments.

3. Acts as the primary contact for the Adult Pediatric unit by answering the phone, directing visitors, and assisting both nursing and providers

4. Maintain unit stock supplies by monitoring of expiration dates, performing special orders and requisition of unit supplies.

5. Complete Quality Assurance, Performance improvement, and Strategic plan initiatives as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) or certification within 4 months.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Colorado State Certified Nursing Assistant License within 4 months of hire. BLS/CPR.
