Job Description:
Salida Montessori Charter School is seeking a full-time Children’s House Assistant Guide (ages 3–5) to join our vibrant learning community. This position works closely with the Lead Guide to cultivate a classroom environment filled with curiosity, independence, and enthusiasm for learning. The Assistant Guide plays an essential role in supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally while helping to maintain a beautiful, orderly Montessori environment.
The ideal candidate will:
Work cohesively with the Lead Guide to prepare and maintain a beautiful, orderly Montessori classroom
Support students (ages 3-6) in developing independence, language, practical life skills, and social-emotional growth
Willing to learn and uphold Montessori philosophy and practices
Brings enthusiasm for celebrating childhood, including a love of dance parties
Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong initiative
Maintain a safe, warm, and responsive classroom environment
Communicate professionally and compassionately with families and staff
Qualifications:
Experience working with toddlers or in early childhood settings preferred
Understanding of or willingness to learn Montessori philosophy and practices
Patience, flexibility, and a collaborative spirit
Commitment to professional growth
Ability to meet state licensing requirements for early childhood staff
