At Buena Vista Drug, we’re doing something different. We’re building a pharmacy experience for the patient as an individual, not just for another number. At our pharmacy we focus on wellness and work to empower our patients to spend more time living a healthy life so they spend less time visiting their doctors and pharmacy. We also strive to expand the practice of community pharmacy so pharmacists and technicians can practice at the top of their training. We work with enough staff to make this experience a positive one for both the customer and the employee.
We are looking for a great technician who loves helping our customers live their best life and do more than just filling and dispensing medications. You should enjoy making complicated situations simple and painless and have a passion for our mission in changing the pharmacy experience and provide better access to care in our community.
Located in Chaffee County, Colorado this position offers a great way to get involved in a rural mountain town, help improve the health of our community, and live in one of the best areas to experience and take in the beautiful Colorado mountain scenery.
No Sundays, No Holidays, No On Call, potentially some Saturday work shifts.
This position is accountable for producing the following result:
- provide support to the pharmacist and provide courteous expeditious service to our prescription customers
- calling patients daily
- inputting Rx data
- answering phone calls
- billing and troubleshooting third party claims
- vaccinating patients
- performing point of care tests
- simple Rx compounding
- assisting with clinical documentation of services performed
- maintaining proper Rx stock
- communicating with physicians
- accurately filling prescriptions
- maintaining cleanliness and order in the pharmacy department

Education, Certification/License, and Experience Required
1. High school diploma or College Degree
2. Excellent computer skills (typing, operating systems)
3. Able to stand for up to 10 hours per day
Preferred
1. Certified and fully licensed pharmacy technician in the state of CO
2. One – three years in a retail pharmacy setting
3. Some experience with non-sterile compounding
