Essential Duties:

  • Provide patient care as assigned by the nurse, including taking vital signs, daily weights, and tracking dietary intake/output.
  • Accurately document data collected and care provided in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Respond promptly to patient call lights, address patient needs, and report changes in condition to the primary nurse.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Safely assist with patient ambulation based on weight-bearing status and guidelines from RN or Rehab staff.
  • Act as a behavioral health safety sitter when needed.
  • Help maintain clean, clutter-free patient rooms and assist in discharge and admission preparation.
  • Collect clean urine and stool samples as delegated by nursing staff.

EDUCATION 

  •  Certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) or certification within 4 months.
  • Or EMT-B state or national level.
  • Graduate Nurse: associates degree in nursing (ADN) or bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). May only work a maximum of 4 months while waiting to pass RN boards.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Colorado State Certified Nursing Assistant License within 4 months of hire. BLS/CPR.
  • Or EMT-B or NREMT Or Graduate Nurse with evidence of successful completion of RN program.

  • BLS within 30 days of hire.
