Location: Leadville, CO.

Job Description:

Have a few years experience in new construction framing and siding and looking for stable job to advance your career? Want benefits worth up to 40% of your pay in addition to a competitive hourly rate? A Carpentry Crew Lead position with NorthCraft Neighborhoods may be for you.

Construction Crew frames and sides homes under the direction of management of the Lead Carpenter on a full-time basis. No experience is necessary; however applicants must have the following attributes:

  • Motivation: Motivated to learn framing and siding trades
  • Aptitude: Show aptitude for framing and siding

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Framing and Siding Work under the direction of the Lead Carpenter
  • Cut and assemble framing components/materials into floors, walls and roofs
  • Perform backout framing such as blocking, metal connectors, attic access construction, ceiling drops, etc.
  • Dry-in homes by setting windows and doors and applying rigid insulation and housewrap
  • Apply trim and siding to home exteriors
  • Use material efficiently
  • Complete work with a high level of care and efficiency
  • Ensure NN tools, equipment, materials and jobsite are secured against theft, vandalism and weather etc. at the end of each day
  • Help mitigate site weather conditions including snow removal, blanketing, temporary heating, material protection
  • Other duties as assigned by Lead Carpenter or Construction Manager
  • Safety Stop work if life or limb threatening hazard exists
  • Maintain reasonable level of job site cleanliness
  • Comply with safety instructions of Lead Carpenter or Construction Manager
  • Learn to identify and mitigate framing and siding safety risks and requirements
  • Quality Assurance
  • Instruct carpentry crew members on QA requirements
  • Verify critical details are properly completed daily
  • Complete QA checklists for each phase framing and siding
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • At least three years' experience in new construction framing and siding
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Traverse rough ground on construction sites.
  • Ability to move around in tight, enclosed spaces.
  • Ability to perform manual labor in harsh environments for extended periods
  • Conversational Spanish a plus
  • Must pass background and motor vehicle checks and be able to legally work in US

Compensation:

  • Hourly, FSLA non-exempt full-time position with compensation determined by experience and performance.
  • Expected hourly range of $24 - $28, with occasional overtime
  • Health insurance reimbursement of up to $650/month for employee
  • Eight paid holidays
  • Two weeks of vacation plus four personal days with time accruing each pay period
  • Mileage reimbursement at IRS rate
