Job Type: Full time, Hourly

Wage: $20-$30/hr. 

Location: Salida, CO.

Job Description:

This is a full-time nonexempt position and assists job superintendent. This includes maintaining the highest quality while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities.

  • Operates hand tools, power tools and equipment safely.
  • Self-perform work as necessary, including but not limited to rough carpentry, concrete, welding.
  • Performs much of the project layout to ensure walls and other objects are correctly located.
  • Remove trash, debris, and dangerous materials to help maintain a clean and safe job site.
  • Load/unload trucks and haul/hoist materials.
  • Works closely with Superintendent, as delegated, able to direct subcontractors to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, including production tracking and planning, and material /equipment procurement, all that is needed for timely execution, and conforms to plans and specifications of project schedule.
  • Assist Superintendent in maintaining construction schedule (including Daily Project Logs) identifying and solving problems.
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as delegated throughout the process.
  • Assist in developing maintaining partnerships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
  • Prepare, schedule, and work closely with Superintendent in completion of a final punch list.
  • Work with Superintendent in over site of job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectifying job site hazards immediately.
  • Responsible to assist Superintendent in maintaining SDS as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible to maintain an organized job site.
  • Responsible to ensure that job site and subcontractors meet OSHA Storm water regulations.
  • Work with Superintendent to develop site utilization and logistic plans.
  • Often used tools, especially carpentry, to prepare a project for the next phase or to complete a project phase.

  • Understands and abides by OSHA regulations and other regulatory agencies relating to job site safety, demonstrates safe work practices.
  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze workflows, processes and production and problem solve to resolve, and enforce quality control.
  • Demonstrates the ability to encourage personal and professional development in team members.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Must be prepared to work with a wide range of people, from labors to professionals and building owners.

Core Requirements:

  • Experienced in commercial construction
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 – 75 lbs., able to bend, stand on feet all day, stretch, and meet physical demands of the position
  • Will be exposed to dirt and loud noise
  • Position requires an acceptable background check and drug test per company standards.
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license

Compensation for This Position: The salary range for this position is between $20 and $30 per hour depending on the candidate’s capabilities and experience. In addition, the current standard company benefits including paid time off accrual, health, FSA (Flexible Spending Account), dental, vision life insurance eligibility will be offered per company policy for employees, which is the first of the month following 60 days of employment. Eligibility for company 401(k) plan will take place per company policy and fulfillment of a 90 day wait period. Employer pays 95% for the employee’s health and dental premium and 50% for the dependents’ premium.
