Job Type: Full time, Hourly

Wage: $20.25/hr. 

Location: Florence, CO.

Job Description:

 The purpose of the Campus Security Guard is to assist the school and administration in the monitoring of the building and grounds to ensure student, staff and visitor safety and compliance with established laws, policies and rules.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The following responsibilities contain the basic functions of the Campus Security Guard. Duties may be modified at the discretion of the school or district administration to meet the needs of the campus, facility, and student body within reasonable duties for the job hired.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of all mandated criminal background screenings and fingerprinting required

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point of contact and respond to calls for assistance and potential emergency needs of employees, students and the public on Fremont Re-2 district property
  • Conduct comprehensive proactive and responsive patrols of building or district property to help ensure safety and security of students, staff and visitors; and to help ensure the security of the buildings and property
  • Have the ability to verbally deescalate confrontation and utilize training and best practices to respond to a variety of situations.
  • Monitor students inside the buildings, reviewing passes and student movement throughout school hours.
  • Monitor entry and exit of parents and students to and from the building.
  • Supervise school grounds, enforce parking policies, and monitor vehicle traffic.
  • Monitor parking areas and surrounding campus areas.
  • Counsel and build relationships with students to achieve and maintain expected behavior standards.
  • Submit referrals to address student behavior problems.
  • Work with the school administration in developing and maintaining safety and security policies and processes.
  • Work with the School Resource Officer and law enforcement in maintaining a safe and secure environment throughout the campus.
  • Possess skills to be able to utilize technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively
  • Be able to monitor Verkada cameras and environmental sensors and archive information as needed
  • Operate current district visitor management software.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess and maintain a first Aid and CPR certification.
  • Be able to work with a variety of first responders in an emergency situation
  • Receive training in nonviolent crisis intervention.
  • Be familiar with standard response protocols and emergency operations
  • Assist with school emergency and safety drills.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures
  • Possess the ability to utilize two-way radio systems.
  • Ability to walk and stand throughout the workday.
  • Be an active member of the Building Emergency Team.
  • Utilize confidentiality and be familiar with educational privacy act laws and policies
  • Understand seclusion and restraint laws as they pertain to educational settings
  • Be willing to work additional hours to provide security at after school and weekend events when necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other:

  • Completed or willing to complete FEMA IS 100, Introduction to Incident Command Systems for Schools and FEMA IS 700, Introduction to the National Incident Management System within the first 60 days of employment
  • Maintains good security practices with passwords and accounts to the various district systems and applications.
  • Reports actual or suspected breaches in the confidentiality, integrity or availability of district data to appropriate district personnel.
  • Participate in student threat/risk assessments as requested

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

150 days / 8.0 hour workday / 4 day school week

Salary according to the Classified Salary Schedule at $20.25/hr

District contribution toward benefit package valued at $4,944 annually to include Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Leave days according to District Policy
