Job: Cafe Staff

Tennessee Pass Cookhouse

Job Type: Full time, Part time, Hourly

Wage: $18-$20/hr.

Location: Leadville, CO.

Job Description:

This job is best suited for hardworking and sociable employees who excel in communication and customer service.

Nordic Center & Cafe Staff Qualifications:

  • Must be 18+ with a current and valid Drivers License
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous Cafe, Barista and/or food preparation experience preferred but not required
  • Familiar with operation of Point of Sale systems and cash handling
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays
  • Snowmobile and UTV experience preferred but not required
  • Excellent work ethic, dependability, customer service & communication skills
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 50lbs

Nordic Center & Cafe Staff Duties:

  • Preparation of Cafe food and beverages
  • Cafe/Retail/Rental sales and customer service
  • Operation of POS and cash handling
  • Troubleshooting of iPad and card readers
  • Equipment rentals and lesson scheduling
  • Dishwashing
  • Daily cleaning of the Nordic Center and other facilities
  • Stocking and inventory of retail and cafe items
  • Wood stacking
  • Snow removal
  • Implementing opening and closing procedures
  • Operation of snowmobiles & UTVs
  • Knowledge of Tennessee Pass trails and policies for guests and staff

Working conditions

The Nordic Center & Cafe Staff position is based both inside and outside, and is exposed to temperature extremes (above 80 degrees and below 20 degrees), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice) and high altitudes (10,500+ feet).

Physical requirements

Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs and ladders, stand and/or sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift objects which may be heavy, etc.

Seasonal Status

This is a winter seasonal position with an expected season of late November 2024 through mid April 2025. Employment in subsequent seasons is not guaranteed.
