Wage: $55,000-$65,000/yr. 

Location: Penrose, CO.

Job Description:

Estes is looking for a curious and dynamic Buyer that has at least 5 years of experience navigating through ambiguity and driving process driven procurement activities within the organization. The Buyer will drive his/her team and stakeholders to leverage the ERP system for Material Resource needs for direct and indirect spend needs. This person will be an expert at running the Material Production and Resource Schedule from the system and ensure that products are in the right quantity, price, place, and time. The Buyer will have experience in managing the Strategic Sourcing process end-to-end with Leadership and Stakeholder input.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all purchasing functions for production and non-production items.
  • Manage Strategic Sourcing events on categories assigned with key deliverables from a financial and execution standpoint.
  • Ensure that New Vendor Packets are completed for new and incumbent supplier partners and protocols are followed with vigorous follow ups for remedies when violated.
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews with strategic supplier partners and maintain supplier health matrix.
  • Corrective action implementation and tracking to improve health score of underperforming partners.
  • Participate in cross-functional root cause analysis projects.
  • Manage the entire P2P process and effectively resolve any billing and pricing discrepancies.
  • Ensure that appropriate credits are received for defective or product shorts.
  • Create and maintain when requested key ERP records including Item Master, Item Attributes, Item Planning, Purchase Costs, and any Resource Planning related data.
  • Coordinate accounts payable and wire transfers to foreign suppliers.
  • Coordinate domestic and international movement of purchased items.
  • Serve as the liaison between the company and suppliers; maintain positive vendor relationships to develop partnership relation where necessary.
  • Ensure team is proactively identifying shortages, communicating with contract manufacturers, and escalating issues that affect production schedules.
  • Track and report key performance indicators assigned and proactively identify actions to close gaps and to drive continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for managing the inbound and customer direct outbound supply chain. COGS reductions from a product and freight cost standpoint.
  • Manage direct report(s) to meet and exceed company and department goals set out by leadership.
  • Performs special projects and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Supply Management or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of professional purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Model rocketry and motor manufacturing experience is a plus ERP experience
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite; specifically, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with various stakeholders

Additional Requirements:

The candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a thorough background check in order to become licensed with the State of Colorado Explosives Board, The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, and the Department of Homeland Security. Any job offer made will be contingent upon the results of this background check and the ability to obtain the required licenses.
