Salary: Determined by the Instructional Support Salary Schedule based on experience and education. Range: $16.18 - $17.47 per hour.

Purpose of the Job:
Provide general support for the transportation of Pre-K students under the guidance of the Bus Driver and Transportation Manager, including specialized support for Pre-K students in special education. Implement specialized programming and assist students with individualized needs to and from school.

- Adaptability: Follow schedules and routines and implement necessary adaptations based on student needs, especially for those with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Student Support: Meet the educational, physical, and emotional needs of assigned students, implement IEP requirements, and assist as needed.
- Specialized Training: Must be Mandt trained (or willing to be trained) as required by the District.
- Data Security: Implement appropriate measures to protect district data, maintain secure passwords, and follow district technology policies.
- Transportation: May be required to transport students in district vehicles.
- Physical Requirements: Able to supervise students inside/outside, sometimes in inclement weather, and provide physical assistance as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
Daily Operations:
- Operate school buses according to district, state, and federal regulations, and CDE rules.
- Perform pre- and post-route safety inspections on vehicles and ensure vehicle cleanliness.
- Maintain student conduct on the bus, promoting safety for all students.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus.
Special Education Additional Duties
- Maintain strict confidentiality with all special education student information.
- Follow IEP-driven instructional programs as directed by supervising teachers.
- Safely maneuver and secure wheelchairs, assisting students with safe transfer to and from wheelchairs as needed.
Administrative Duties:
- Complete required paperwork and electronic documentation promptly.
- Coordinate with the Manager of Transportation and Transportation Secretary to maintain accurate records.
- Report all accidents/incidents to transportation management immediately.
Training and Compliance:
- Attend district-required training programs, meetings, and in-services.
- Uphold district policies, including school vehicle passenger rules.
Student Support:
- Administer first aid as necessary and ensure safe transfer procedures for students in wheelchairs.
- Maintain confidentiality for special education students and follow IEP-specific instructional programs as directed.
Skills, Knowledge, Equipment & Other:
- Proficient with standard office and specialized equipment needed for individual student accommodations.
- Basic technology skills as directed by the District for effective communication and recordkeeping.
