JOB SUMMARY:
The Brand Experience department is an upbeat, energetic environment that provides opportunities to earn while still getting to play in the mountains. The Brand Experience Manager position is responsible for the daily operation of Monarch Mountain’s Brand Experience department including Brand Experience staff while ensuring each guests’ expectations are exceeded
The Brand Experience Manager will manage events both on the Mountain and off; and strengthen relationships within the community, visitors centers and corporate partners. This position will coordinate with all departments for effective planning, follow-through, and completion of events. Excellent communication, attention to detail, customer service, teamwork, and ability to work both in an office setting and on the mountain is a must. This position requires the ability to have a flexible schedule, including weekends & holidays, and requires the ability to ski or ride all levels of inbound terrain.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Be an effective leader within the guidelines of department and company policies, procedures and values, in fulfillment of Monarch’s mission statement to “To provide an authentic, welcoming mountain experience rooted in genuine service and a deep respect for our community and environment.”
- Develop lasting events that will contribute to the positive promotion of Monarch Mountain.
- Perform the hiring, training and termination of approximately 2-10 departmental team members.
- Provide timely employee feedback and conduct qualitative performance reviews of department staff in accordance with company standards.
- Operate within budgetary constraints for the current season; contribute to departmental budget proposal for the following season, and identify, research and submit departmental capital requests for fiscal review.
- Ensure all forms, tracking, verifications and necessary documents are executed and accurately completed in a timely manner. Including but not limited to requests, training, payroll, timekeeping, budgets, and disciplinary actions.
- Create an event calendar including year-round event activation at Monarch and off property
- Collaborate with the marketing department about effective promotional strategies to increase participation and increase visitation, evaluating effectiveness of events.
- Confirm dates, schedule space, identify materials and staff needed for each event. This includes ensuring payment of entry and other fees and assisting in space selection.
- Book overnight accommodation, and coordinate transportation for staff working events and competitions.
- Monitor and maintain the inventory and condition of department supplies, properties and facilities.
- Ensure the representation of Monarch at events embodies the current Monarch brand and culture.
- Be responsible for tickets, money and overseeing the return of Monarch property.
- Attend events and competitions as necessary.
- Understand the Monarch brand and culture, experiences available at Monarch, and products and pricing sold at events.
- Develop, review and maintain on a regular basis training materials, manuals, job descriptions and any other documents necessary for the overall success of the department.
- Prepare and oversee department personnel in the event of an emergency.
- Oversee the development and ongoing management of Sport Shop partnerships
- Lead the coordination and growth of corporate program partnerships
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with local chambers of commerce and visitor centers
- Cultivate and manage relationships with military organizations and bases
- Develop and expand college season pass promotions and outreach initiatives
- Travel within and outside Colorado to identify venues and establish promotional partnerships for Monarch
- Identify, coordinate and represent Monarch Mountain at key promotional events and activations
- Coordinate birthday parties at Monarch Mountain and Monarch at the Crest

- Must be an active and advanced skier or rider, capable of working in any conditions, on any terrain.
- Must own and maintain appropriate gear, in a safe manner, to perform skiing or riding duties.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Age: 21
- Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.
- High School Diploma or GED required, college degree in related field preferred.
- A valid Driver’s License, and a good, company insurable driving record is required.
- Background check required.
- Minimum three years’ managerial experience preferred.
- Ski or Ride at an advanced level.
- Ability to push, lift, and move up to 30 lbs.
- Requires skiing or riding for long periods of time, on challenging or difficult terrain, and avoiding and recovering from a fall. Must be able to stop, turn, change directions suddenly, adapt to uneven, varying intermediate terrain, and move in both directions on skis or snowboard carrying up to 15 lbs.
- Must have the strength, flexibility, endurance and aerobic conditioning to meet the demands posed by lifting, bending, kneeling, stretching, climbing stairs, shoveling snow, lowering and carrying equipment.
- Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.
