Job Description

Job Type: Full time, Hourly

Wage: $19/hr.

Location: Leadville, CO.

Job Description:

Length of Assignment: Beginning Dec. 2, 2024 and ending June 19, 2025 Roughly follows LCSD calendar

Salary: $27, 208 Annually (roughly $19.00 / hour -prorated to reflect mid-year start date). Salary paid in equal amounts year-round. Full time position also includes EXCELLENT benefits such as PTO, Health, Dental and Vision Insurance!

Purpose of Position: Work in collaboration with and under the supervision of the English Language Development teacher to provide language instruction to students.

Responsibilities: 

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to: 

  • teach basic Spanish lessons to students in grades 3-6 on a 3-week rotating schedule
  • push-in to support multilingual students in their general education classrooms grades 3-6
  • use data to support instruction
  • communicate with Special Education staff to understand and provide student accommodations 
  • participate in professional development to increase knowledge of language acquisition and language teaching and learning
  • model and implement school-wide policies and expectations
  • participate in feedback/observation cycles with supervisor to improve teaching craft and student outcomes
  • participate in Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) process, as needed
  • supervise students within 8 hour day and fulfill assigned duties
  • complete plans for substitutes in the event of any absences
  • other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must hold a high school diploma or a GED; District will pay for a CDE Substitute License within 30 days of hire.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
  • Familiarity with language acquisition preferred
  • Successful experience in a K-12 school setting preferred
  • Applicants must pass all required background checks and fingerprinting
