JOB SUMMARY

The Bi-Lingual Construction Journeyman is a highly skilled, versatile tradesperson who performs and leads a wide range of finish construction activities on VeroTouch’s technology-driven homes. Fluent in English and Spanish, this role serves as an on-site leader, translator, and mentor, ensuring clear communication, safe execution, and high-quality results across diverse crews while directly supporting our mission to deliver attainable, resilient housing at scale.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


Field Construction Execution

  • Perform skilled work in multiple trades including roofing, window and door installation, siding, trim, drywall, painting, and general finish carpentry as required by project phase.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, and verbal instructions to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely and proficiently.

Crew Leadership and Communication

  • Provide accurate, real-time English/Spanish translation of technical direction, safety requirements, and daily goals for multilingual team members.
  • Lead by example and direct small crews to maintain productivity, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Train and coach less-experienced workers on proper techniques, safety practices, and VeroTouch standards.

Safety, Quality, and Ownership

  • Strictly enforce all safety protocols and immediately correct unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Inspect work in progress and completed tasks; resolve defects promptly to meet VeroTouch quality expectations.
  • Maintain organized job sites, accurate daily records, and contribute practical improvement ideas during team reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • A proven work ethic, and a strong commitment to continuous learning—attributes that deliver results beyond traditional education (required).
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program or trade certification (preferred).

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of journeyman-level experience across multiple construction trades (required).
  • Demonstrated experience leading or directing crews on residential or commercial projects.

Skills

  • Full professional fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written), with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly in both languages.
  • Broad, practical knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Proven leadership ability with direct, respectful communication and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform demanding construction work in all weather conditions and at heights when required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • 10 Days of PTO (combined paid leave and sick leave).
  • Eligibility to participate in the company equity incentive bonus program, subject to the terms and conditions specified.
  • Eligibility for health and dental coverage, 401(k) plan and flexible spending accounts (if applicable), subject to the terms and conditions specified (90 days after employment).
  • Company-paid holidays.


EXPECTED COMPENSATION

$26.00 – $34.00/hourly rate + overtime eligibility + benefits 


The compensation package will be tailored based on several individualized factors, including geographic market, job-specific expertise, professional skills, and relevant experience. The total remuneration for this role may encompass additional elements contingent upon the position offered. Comprehensive details regarding participation in benefit programs will be provided upon receipt of an employment offer.

  • Be physically able to perform standard construction tasks.
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Be able to work outside in extreme temperatures.
  • Be able to lift 50+ lbs.
