Hiring Behavioral Youth Counselors to join our multidisciplinary treatment team at Southern Peaks Regional Treatment Center in Canon City, Colorado. Our team members are dedicated and passionate individuals that are committed to inspiring positive change in the lives of at-risk adolescents.

As a Behavioral Counselor, You Will:
Provide a full range of social services directed toward the therapeutic care and rehabilitation of adolescents.
You will participates in the planning, organization and delivery of cross-disciplinary services, (i.e., case work, counseling, specialized treatment, etc.) according to individual skills and abilities.
Bonus (if applicable): $5,000 sign-on
Shift: Hiring for multiple shifts

Behavioral Counselor Basic Responsibilities:
- Performs case management, crisis intervention, individual and group counseling.
- Works and counsels with individual residents to effect and monitor treatment and progress.
- Utilizes group-counseling techniques to effectively monitor and enhance treatment progress.
- Works with external agency staff (probation officers, case workers) to understand case history and identify specific treatment needs.
- Coordinates the implementation of treatment related activities.
- Maintains and completes required documentation prior to the end of the shift.
- Prepares reports as required.
- Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.
- Supports and promotes the Sanctuary Model and it’s commitments
Behavioral Counselor Hiring Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and one (1) year experience; OR Master’s degree in related field.
- At least twenty-one (21) years of age
- Driver's License
- Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing.
- Criminal clearances (State Police, FBI and State Child Abuse Clearances)
- Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks; including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.
- Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
