Job Description:

The top rated Surf Hotel, along with the adjacent Surf Chateau, offers unpretentious luxury and unrivaled views from the heart of the critically acclaimed South Main neighborhood. With an onsite restaurant and a ballroom overlooking the river and flexible common spaces, the Surf Hotel is designed to accommodate events of many styles and sizes.

We are committed to the old-world function of bread production, flour, water, salt and yeast, with a focus on the country style of tapas. This, combined with production of produce and meats from our own farm located just minutes away, sets the stage for a well balanced and inviting farm to table restaurant.

Our beverage scope encompasses a carefully selected wine program, a boundless cocktail bar as well as an understanding of coffee and tea service.

Food and beverage service is offered daily from 4pm-10pm and Brunch from 9am-2pm on Sundays. We execute 100+ events per year and need servers for our restaurant and events!

Preferences:

Hospitality experience

Job Responsibilities:

Be able to work long hours while standing

Meet required age to serve alcohol

Uphold laws pertaining to serving alcohol

Complete staff education programs and training as may be required

Be able to lift 50 pounds

Participate in daily pre-shift beverage/service meetings

Work alongside coworkers for menu development

Understand the relationship between bartender, server and guest

Be team focused

Treat all co-workers with the utmost respect.

Maintain a humble attitude and practice hospitality over service.

Have a deep appreciation for quality food, wine, beer, cocktails, coffee, tea, soda, mead, cider, etc.

Strive to be the best version of yourself

Have a great attitude and always being willing to learn

Qualifications
- POS experience, including Toast preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on hospitality
- Food handling and food safety knowledge
- Previous experience in a restaurant setting preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash register operations and upselling
- Must have bartending experience in a high-volume craft cocktail bar
- TIPS Certification required by end of training period
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to provide top-notch guest services
