Job Type: Part time, Hourly

Wage:  $14.22 per hour + 2% share of service charge for each departure worked

Location: Canon City, CO.

Job Description

Serves guests quickly, efficiently, and with complete knowledge of food and beverage menus. Offers superior customer service and maintains station in a clean and orderly manner throughout shift.

Essential Functions

  • Warmly greets and acknowledges guests upon arrival.
  • Check’s customers identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages when ordered.
  • Effectively merchandise food and beverage menus in an informative, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.
  • Answering any questions customers may have concerning menu items. Informs customers of any specials.
  • Polishes all silverware used for service.
  • Accurately takes guest orders in a timely fashion.
  • Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Serves beverages to customers.
  • Cleans, stocks, and maintains the workstations throughout shift.
  • Follows all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Correctly and precisely calculates each guest check and collect payments.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as directed by management.

Education/Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or actively pursuing an education
  • Prior experience serving/bartending in a restaurant preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes ability to assess customer needs, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Understanding of federal, state, and local liquor laws

Skills/Aptitudes

  • Ability to perform basic math skills such as adding and subtracting, counting cash/change
  • Ability to read/speak/write the English language and communicate professionally and effectively.
  • Ability to take direction and work under moderate supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work quickly, calmly, and effectively under pressure
  • Active listening skills: having the ability to give full attention to what others are communicating, taking time to understand, asking questions when appropriate and not interrupting.
  • Ability to problem-solve using critical thinking, be self-motivated, and organized
  • Conflict Resolution, ability to deal with unpleasant or angry customers.

Working Conditions/Essential Job Functions

  • This position will spend 95% of the time standing/walking and 5% of the time sitting
  • Position requires ability to bend, twist, make repetitive motions, use hands to hold and carry items/trays, kneel, reach, push and pull.
  • This position requires the ability to work/move safely on a moving train.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Direct contact with guests, managers, and co-workers.
  • Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, snow, rain and water.
