Conditions of employment: Selected applicant must verify past experience, hold a valid Colorado Department of Education teaching certificate, or qualify for an Alternative license.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Work as team member under the direction of the school principal. This position requires developing and implementing daily lesson plans based on Colorado state standards. The teacher will observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, and social development. The teacher will also instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students varying needs. The position requires planning and conducting activities for a balanced program of instruction for student’s diverse backgrounds and abilities. It also requires substantial organizational and time management skills. The teacher must be able to work collaboratively with fellow teachers. The teacher is expected to participate in district development of curriculum and instruction. Salary is based on a 156-day work calendar, which is scheduled with the supervisor.
Preferred experience/knowledge/ability:
Successful teaching experience.
Familiarity with state and national automotive technology standards.
Ability to work effectively and create a positive rapport with students, staff, administration, parents and community members.
General Responsibilities:

Teach automotive technology classes including CMC concurrent enrollment classes
Manage a high school automotive shop in which students are involved in hands-on learning by repairing student, staff, and community automobiles.
Instruct students with different levels on automotive knowledge from basic to advanced
Use automotive technology to support instruction including All Data and CDX.
Work closely with CMC staff to ensure high quality instruction and curricular consistency
Ensure curricular alignment with industry recognized automotive certifications and CMC auto curriculum
Create and maintain a positive rapport with students, parents, and the general public.
Demonstrate successful teaching experience with high school students as well as a personal commitment to constant improvement as a teacher.
Maintain a commitment to continuing enhancement of the learning experience and working within the philosophy, standards, curriculum, scope, and sequence of the automotive technology department.
Perform other duties as appropriate in support of the high school program.
