Wage: $64,452-$72,540/yr.

Hiring Range: $5,371 - $6,045 monthly

About the Position:
The Accountant Analyst I will perform professional accounting duties encompassing financial analysis, record-keeping, and reporting for payroll, accounts payable, or accounts receivable across City departments. Responsibilities include preparing journal entries and reconciling the general ledger. This person will be a member of the City’s budget team assigned to the Police Department to assist in development, preparation, and monitoring of the Department’s annual budget.

The department includes the following functions: Budget, Accounting & Financial Reporting, Sales & Use Tax Administration, Grant Administration, & Municipal Court

Duties

What You'll Do:
  • Budget development, preparation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Perform accounting work involved in financial record keeping and reporting.
  • Verify, balance and adjust records including journal entries.
  • Enter data into assigned systems, maintain and generate reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile a variety of bank accounts, ledgers and accounting records.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For: 

  • Two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting, finance or budgeting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll experience. 
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license.

Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
