Position Type: Full-time, 169 days per year

Location: Harrison K-8 School

Salary: Pay for this position is determined by the 169-day Teacher Salary Schedule and based on education and experience. Starting salary range is $38,067-$65,475

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

  • Current Colorado Teacher License, endorsement in Technology Education 7-12, or be eligible to apply
  • Must have a Bachelor Degree or higher
  • Synergy Lab experience through Pitsco preferred
  • Experience with Blended Learning methods preferred
  • Knowledge of ISTE and NGSS Standards around technology use and implementation in the classroom.
  • Experience in desktop computer, Chromebook and/or network troubleshooting and support or equivalent is preferred.
  • Work requires analytical and evaluative skills; determining solutions to technical problems using standards and common practices.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks including LAN/WAN and wireless networks, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Chrome Operating Systems, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware and PC hardware and Windows application software preferred
  • Must be willing to learn new technology and stay current on technology trends and implementations.
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others and to help support staff and students with their technology needs in an ever changing and challenging environment.
  • Ability to perform duties with limited supervision and work independently.
  • Must be highly dependable and responsible in meeting requirements of the position.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work with classroom teachers to facilitate/coordinate scheduling of classes and conferences with parents
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a school atmosphere with staff members, students and the public
  • Resiliency and flexibility in the face of change
  • Willingness to sit on the district Technology Advisory Council as a representative for grade 6-8 in the building.
  • Willingness to develop and provide a variety of opportunities for students
  • Ability to read, write in order to comply with directions and instructions to complete task and establish priorities.
  • Possess skills to be able to utilize basic technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively.
  • Coaching and/or sponsoring of extracurricular school activities may be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the students and the building.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teachers are held to high expectations for their performance to ensure success of the individual and the District in serving students and the community. Teachers are held to the District’s Licensed Personnel Performance Evaluation System that consists of the State’s Quality Standards, elements, and performance indicators which point to fulfillment of the teaching responsibility. A teacher’s demonstrated effectiveness is based on the following standards:

  • Quality Standard I: Teachers demonstrate mastery of and pedagogical expertise in the content they teach.
  • Quality Standard II: Teachers establish a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students.
  • Quality Standard III: Teachers plan and deliver effective instruction and create an environment that facilitates learning for their students.
  • Quality Standard IV: Teachers demonstrate professionalism through ethical conduct, reflection, and leadership.
