Public Works Maintenance Operator I, II, or III

The Town of Ridgway is seeking to fill the position of Public Works Maintenance Operator I, II, or III.  This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an excellent benefit package. Current benefits include: Health insurance, including dental and vision, and retirement benefits.

The position is available to an individual to perform a variety of skilled duties related to the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of town utility and public works service systems including streets, water transmission and wastewater collection and treatment, rights-of-ways, parking lots, bridges, storm drain systems and irrigation. The position also participates in the maintenance of town parks, buildings, and recreational facilities as needed. The successful candidate is expected to have the ability to perform independently at a high level and work exceptionally well in a team and community-focused environment.

A starting hourly rate of $20.49 to $22.72 is offered for the Public Works Maintenance Operator I role, depending on qualifications and experience. 

A starting hourly rate of $23.32 to $24.99 is offered for the Public Works Maintenance Operator II role, depending on qualifications and experience. 

A starting hourly rate of $27.27 to $30.24 is offered for the Public Works Maintenance Operator III role, depending on qualifications and experience.

Seasonal Worker for Public Works Department (Parks Maintenance)

The Town of Ridgway is seeking energetic individuals who enjoy working outdoors to join our Public Works crew as a Seasonal Parks Maintenance Worker for Summer 2025 (approximately May 1 through September 30). This is a great way to get to know our Ridgway team and make connections for future opportunities. 

The Town of Ridgway believes in attracting and retaining the best talent and our strategies include hiring in at market pay and creating career development opportunities.

Days and hours may be variable. Selected candidates can work up to 40 hours per week. Work schedules are flexible. 

Seasonal Parks Maintenance Workers perform general maintenance in parks and open spaces. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to turf care, planting and landscaping, irrigation, trash pick-up, restroom maintenance, general maintenance of recreational fields, park facilities and municipal buildings, and miscellaneous labor. 

A starting pay of $22 per hour is offered. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Requires a valid driver's license.

Deputy Marshal (Part-Time)

The Town of Ridgway is seeking to fill a part-time Deputy Marshal position with the Ridgway Marshal’s Office for up to 20 hours per week. Applicants must be 21 years of age, possess an exemplary driving record and be certified through a P.O.S.T. approved training academy or course of study.In addition, applicants must be willing to work shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and applicants must be able to pass a background investigation, including a phycological exam and medical physical.

This is a part-time, non-exempt position with limited benefits. A starting hourly rate of $31.05 to $33.26 is offered for the part-time Deputy Marshal role, depending upon qualifications and experience.
