Job Description

Full Time

Pay: Determined via Master Agreement

Job Responsibilities:

  • 8.5 hour workday / 4 day school week
  • 161 day in school year
  • K-12 ELL support half of the time to all schools in the district
  • Reading Intervention half of the time at Fremont Elementary School
  • Provide direct instruction to small groups of students at an intensive, strategic or accelerated level of intervention
  • Provide explicit and systematic instruction to improve students’ specific skills, strategies, and concept development
  • Assist in screening, diagnostic, and progress monitoring assessments including DIBELS and ACCESS testing
  • Assist in analyzing student data to determine student profile of needs, and for making instructional placement and instructional decisions
  • Collaborate and consult with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other specialists in a problem solving approach to implement the most effective instructional plan for students
  • Develop schedules and flexible groups of homogeneous skills based on student performance data
  • Attend parent teacher conferences to support communication as needed
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to support learning needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid Colorado teaching license 
  • Must have a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Endorsement
  • Successful completion of all mandated criminal background screenings & fingerprinting as required 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Good understanding Colorado Academic Standards and district/state testing requirements
  • Good understanding of the Colorado English Language Proficiency (CELP) standards
  • Experience scheduling and completing (Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State for English Language Learners) ACCESS testing
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Completion of Colorado Department of Education 45 recertification hours in state approved Reading Instruction professional development
  • Maintain positive working relationship with students, staff, administrators, and parents
  • Willing to comply with school, state, and federal instructional standards
  • Strong background in reading, written language and math
  • Experience in working with elementary and secondary students
  • Strong student management skills
  • Ability to facilitate data driven discussions/meetings
  • Experience or training in evidence-based interventions
  • Excellent communication skills in oral and written language
