 HIRING BONUS FOR WEEKEND and OVERNIGHT AWAKE shifts

40-hour-a-week shift $720 bonus

36 hours a week shift $648 bonus


Starpoint is seeking outgoing, energetic, patient, compassionate individuals to provide direct care, positive direction, and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

As a Direct Support Professional, you have the incredible opportunity to serve an amazing population with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You get to help them meet their goals and learn new skills. As a Direct Support Professional, you help people learn life skills in areas such as employment, money management, sex education, and relationship-building. In addition, you HELP people to meet their basic needs by assisting with activities of daily living, including but not limited to personal hygiene, assisting with clothes, toileting, changing, etc.


Responsibilities:

  • Help individuals establish and maintain relationships and a sense of belonging.
  • Encourage community involvement and teach safety awareness.
  • Help individuals develop positive and appropriate behaviors in all settings.
  • Support and encourage responsible choices.
  • Teach appropriate socialization skills.
  • Encourage routine and consistency.
  • Help individuals establish natural support and promote self-advocacy.
  • Transport individuals to and from activities in the community.
  • Assisting  individuals in increasing their basic life skills through guidance and role modeling.
  • Engaging in activities with  clients and motivating them to participate in each activity (bowling, swimming, volunteering, etc.)
  • Providing  person-centered support- assisting each individual with reaching personal goals.
  • Responsible for daily activities,  welfare, progress, supervision, and learning experiences of individuals receiving services.
  • Responsible for being a positive embodiment of Starpoint in all interactions with individuals receiving services, parents, caregivers, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Promote community awareness of the abilities of individuals with disabilities while maintaining reasonable confidentiality.
  • Expectations of continuous teamwork and professionalism not only with individuals served but with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Be willing and able to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including but not limited to personal hygiene, assisting with dressing, toileting, changing, etc.
  • Document and report incidents appropriately within the given time frame.
  • Document the daily services provided, activities participated in, and progress toward      goals.
  • Complete all paperwork to Starpoint standards and submit it in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as needed.
Requirements

  

Qualification Requirements:

  • 18 or older
  • Experience is preferred but not required.
  • Pass Background checks and MVR.
  • You must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to transport clients in your vehicle (the company will reimburse you for mileage). Company vehicles are used with larger groups.
